A clear check of your residential project against the Residential Design Codes, before you lodge or after a local government raises concerns.
Your plans are assessed against the relevant provisions of the R-Codes, such as setbacks, open space, site coverage, building height, visual privacy, overshadowing, parking and landscaping. Local planning policies and scheme provisions that modify the R-Codes are taken into account.
Where a design meets the deemed-to-comply provisions, the assessment confirms it. Where it does not, the design can often still be approved by meeting the relevant design principles. The assessment identifies which variations are needed and sets out the justification for each one.
A written assessment that shows what complies, what does not and what options are available. It can be used to adjust the design before lodgement, or to support an application or a response to a local government request for further information.
